Bytech Bonnie Marcus iPhone, iPod USB cable is defective. I saw it at Walgreens for $12.99 marked down to 50 cents so I bought it. I plugged it into my computer and within a few minutes a warning popped up which read "This USB device has been disabled because it was drawing too much power. All of your USB ports have been damaged." This makes my computer almost useless. Model, SKU is BMCBLIPH102. This is the back of the package which I just dug out of the trash. I now see that it says "Made in China." Website for company is www.bytechintl.com They are out of Brooklyn, New York. The designer is Bonnie Marcus https://bonniemarcus.com/
Below is an ad for the product. It's severely discounted everywhere. I'm assuming that's because it's defective. In all honesty who would want this product even if it were free. It destroyed all of my USB ports within minutes. As I look at this cord it is thin and flat. The Apple ones are rounder and thicker. I have a feeling the thin cord may have been the problem. I have my original box and receipt. Bonnie Marcus should have nothing to do with ByTech. They need to recall this product. The box says they warranty the cable for 12 months from sale. Box says I can send the cable to them prepaid postage with $5 handling and original receipt. It says they will repair or replacement the cord only. That makes no sense when the defective cord costs 50 cents. I thought it was merely an overstock item. I would never pay to destroy my computer.
