| Legal Shield Pre-Paid Legal is a multi-level marketing scam that doesn't cover all legal help |
LegalShield used to be Pre-Paid Legal (symbol PPD) which has been investigated by the FTC, SEC, Attorney General…and found guilty of numerous violations besides fraud, breach of contract, fraudulent accounting methods, securities manipulation, securities fraud…. They have been sued by people who bought and sold their product and lost money. PPD became LegalShield a private company in 2011.
Legal Shield is a multi-level marketing business. They recruit people to sell legal insurance plans and pay them a commission. They've been called a pyramid scam. People make small monthly payments for legal help or identity theft protection if/when they need it in the future.
Read the ripoff and scam reports. If you need legal help, they will make one phone call or write one letter. Then they refer you to an outside lawyer who asks for a $10,000 retainer. LegalShield's real business is recruiting people to sell many monthly plans for commission. The cancellation rate was almost on par with the signup rate when they were public. They've also been accused of being a billing scam. They continue to charge your credit card monthly without permission and they make it impossible to contact them.
When they went public in 1999 they hired John Westergaard to illegally pump and dump their stock. I reported Westergaard and the SEC went after him twice. He hyped them from 1999 to 2000. Westergaard hyped the stock on his internet site along with the CEO Harland Stonecipher. SEC finally shut down Westergaard.
Pre-Paid Legal stock was illegally pump and dumped by the mob and stock promoters who were paid yet didn't disclose. Some info below.

The people selling the legal insurance are not lawyers or insurance agents. They have other jobs maybe working as a used car salesman or Mary Kay salesperson. The complaint below outlines the basic scam.

More scam reports. Even lawyers call this company a scam. If you are sued, the company won't represent you. They instead will cancel your policy. If you need more than a letter, they will offer you a 25% discount off hourly legal rates which are still higher than average rates without insurance. Lawyers don't want to work for this company.

Please, do not allow Best Friends to have this meeting to recruit people to buy/sell their multi-level marketing plan or insurance. They invited 1,200 of my Facebook animal rescue friends to the meeting along with me. That's how I found out about it. The Mission Hills shelter is owned by the City of Los Angeles. You should not allow them to have this meeting in the shelter. I am warning everyone invited that it's a scam. Please, share this note.
The person running this event is Sandra Lollino of ForThePets. She is a salesperson for LegalShield. Forthepets is her other vendor name for LegalShield. She is targeting animal rescuers.

For those who don't know me I outed John Westergaard of wbn.com from 1998 to until he died. I sent full reports to the SEC and worked with them side by side to bust Westergaard. I received a thank you note from the SEC for my help. Westergaard threatened to sue and kill me. He did neither. Every stock hyped by Westergaard was a scam from PPD to UMCC and many more.
Mary Cummins of Animal Advocates is a wildlife rehabilitator licensed by the California Department of Fish and Game and the USDA. Mary Cummins is also a licensed real estate appraiser in Los Angeles, California.
