Animals in wildlife rehab facility die after ingesting Petag Esbilac formula. Notice Petag tells people to send the formula to them for testing. Don't waste the postage. They will lie and tell you that they tested it and it's fine. Then they will blame the consumer for the problem saying you probably left it out in the heat. That's what they did last time. Plus, they end up with the evidence, the exact bag or container of formula that killed the baby. Then you can't sue them. Petag is a very unethical, unprofessional company that intentionally sells formula they know will kill your babies. Even after all the babies died they kept right on selling the product. They don't care about animals at all, only money.

They were forced by the FDA to add this link to their website because of their rancid, over heated formula. http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/SafetyHealth/ProductSafetyInformation/ucm217650.htm
From the above link,
"The structure, nutritional value, and solubility of milk proteins and fats in milk replacers, may be altered by improper processing, handling, or storage. Fats may become rancid if exposed to excessive temperature and oxygen at any time prior to use. Casein, the major protein in cow’s milk, is by itself not very soluble in water and mostly exists in milk in a complex structure known as the casein micelle. If the structure or composition of casein micelles is altered, the casein can clump together. Exposure to low pH (acidity), heat, proteolytic enzymes, such as rennin, and age can all cause casein to clump together."
Last time Petag exposed KMR to incorrect temperature and oxygen which caused it to be rancid. It looked yellow, clumpy and smelled. Petag also overheated Esbilac so casein clumped together. This caused protein and fat not to be absorbed by the baby. The clumps turned into fiber. The fiber gave the babies massive diarrhea while at the same time they could not absorb protein, fat, calories or nutrients. That would be like feeding your baby only fiber and water.
My original lab results, articles about Petag Esbilac being rancid and tainted.

My blog article about the problems, somewhat similar

Looks like Petag sold out to PBI Gordon who sold out to Lambert Kay. I see that Darlene Frudakis still works there. This is the person who blamed consumers for her rancid formula which she continued to sell. She will I bet blame it on the weather again. Gayla Fell, Eileen Eubanks, George Gill, William Geary, Lew Sutton.
Don't use Petag formulas or products. When they have rancid or over heated formula and they know it kills babies, they continue to sell it. One of their employees bragged in his resume how he keeps making the product cheaper and cheaper so they can make more and more profit. Even after FDA told them their formula was bad, it was rancid and overheated, they continued to sell it. FDA can't force them to recall it. Petag doesn't care that they are killing babies. They only care about money.
I recommend Fox Valley Nutrition. It's much better. They never sell bad product. It's also much cheaper. Only problem is your must order it to be delivered.
You can also make your own formula. All formula is made out of milk and eggs basically. Some mix goat milk with eggs and honey. Keep refrigerated and serve warm. Some use human baby formula, adjust protein up with egg whites, adjust fat up with healthy oil. Figure out how much your baby needs by species. Or you can replicate KMR and Esbilac percentages.
As per Petag KMR is 7% protein, 4% fat 830 kcal/kg. Esbilac is 4% protein, 6% fat 820 kcal/kg. The way they do their math is misleading.
Generally puppy milk is 33/40 protein/fat %. Kitten milk is 40/25. We give omnivores puppy milk, carnivores kitten milk. I use 32/40 Fox Valley and adjust with powdered egg whites and organic unrefined corn or cold pressed flax oil if needed. Some use human formula Similac, canned evaporated goat milk, powdered egg whites and oil. Do the nutrition math depending upon species.
Evil Petag company website. http://www.petag.com
I recommend Fox Valley Nutrition. http://www.foxvalleynutrition.com/
