Happy Holidays from everyone at Animal Advocates!

Thanks so much for all the kind and generous birthday and holiday donations you made to our non-profit Animal Advocates. We can only help animals because of donations from kind people like you.

Last night I prepared gifts for our sanctuary animals. Hay with treats stuffed in empty toilet paper roll for Fiona bunny. New stuffed "wife" (with squeaky!) for Sammy skunk to "enjoy." Acorns, pine cones, fruit tree branches, flowers for Mindy the blind squirrel to smell, feel, eat and chew on. Cooked fish skin, raw chicken liver (gag!) for Dexter opossum to nom nom nom. Wadded up pieces of newspaper, plastic water bottle tops, dropped pigeon feathers on a stick for the cats to play with.

I gave the animals their xmas gifts last night because they didn't want to wait until this morning. They had a blast chewing, eating, "wrestling" and playing with their gifts. No one tell Sammy skunk but his new Christmas present "wife" is a used dog toy someone donated. I thought he'd prefer an experienced wife instead. I did wash it first. She's missing an eye and a tail but Sammy doesn't care.

It is a beautiful Christmas morning here in Los Angeles, California. It will be 81 degrees, sunny and clear today. I will be outside cleaning enclosures, tending to animals since my back feels better today. Merry Christmas, everyone!
